The bixie is the bob-pixie hybrid that came out of pandemic-era TikTok — a French-girl-undone cut with bob-length top and pixie-short nape, intentionally messy, never neat. Length sits around the jaw or just below at the longest, with the nape clipped close. The shape is meant to look slept-in, not just cut.

It flatters oval, heart, and oblong faces — strong cheekbones carry it because the cut exposes them. Straight and wavy textures wear it most cleanly; the cut works on curly hair too but reads more 'short curly cut' than 'bixie.' The bixie is the cut to ask for when you want shorter than a bob but aren't ready to commit to a full pixie.

Low daily maintenance once cut — air-dry with mousse, scrunch in some texturizing spray, push pieces around with your hands. Three minutes most mornings. Trim every six weeks to keep the nape sharp and the shape disconnected. The bixie went viral on TikTok in 2021 (Jenna Ortega's variant got particular attention) and has stayed firmly in rotation.
